Learning Enrichment

Learning enrichment is a part of daily life at Highfields. Our small class sizes ensure teachers have constant opportunities to work closely with individuals and small groups of children, targeting instruction to match each child’s strengths, needs and interests. This means that most learning enrichment goals, either through support or extension, are met in the classroom.

Children requiring support in literacy and mathematics, beyond what is provided by classroom teachers, receive individual or small group instruction, planned for and implemented by a member of the Learning Enrichment Team. These highly qualified specialist staff work in close collaboration with class teachers to ensure that the best opportunities are offered for every child to progress.

A further Enrichment Program is offered to cater specifically for children in Year 1 and 2. Small groups of students are teamed up with a member of the Learning Enrichment Team for a six week blocks of time. The enrichment opportunities available through this program have previously encompassed the creative arts, maths investigations, leadership experiences, creative writing, philosophy and debating.
