Early Years Learning Framework 2.0<\/h3>\n

The Early Years Learning Framework is Australia\u2019s first national framework designed to support teachers and educators in extending and enriching young children\u2019s learning across Australian preschools and various early learning settings. The Framework has been updated and conveys the highest expectations for all children\u2019s learning, development, and wellbeing from birth to 5 years. Here at Highfields, the 2Day, 3Day and 5Day early learning programs have embraced the updated framework and its vision to support the quality of education for the children in our care. \u00a0We continue to develop purposeful play-based learning programs responsive to our children\u2019s ideas, curiosities, strengths, and rights.<\/p>\n

Essentially, the Early Years Learning Framework describes childhood as a time of belonging, being<\/em><\/strong> and becoming:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/em>Belonging <\/em><\/strong>is the basis for living a fulfilling life. Children feel they <\/em>belong <\/em>because of the relationships they have with their family, community, culture and place.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/em>Being <\/em><\/strong>is about living here and now. Childhood is a special time in life and children need time to just \u2018be\u2019\u2014time to play, try new things and have fun.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/em>Becoming <\/em><\/strong>is about the learning and development that young children experience. Children start to form their sense of identity from an early age, which shapes the type of adult they will become.<\/em><\/p>\n

At Highfields, we whole-heartedly support the Framework\u2019s recognition of the importance of purposeful play as the vehicle for all learning in young children. We value the Framework\u2019s knowledge of the need to secure trusting and caring relationships with children and families, while providing learning experiences that engage and build success for life.<\/p>\n

Through the Framework\u2019s five learning goals, we will assist your child to develop:<\/p>\n

  • a strong sense of their identity<\/li>\n
  • connections with their world<\/li>\n
  • a strong sense of wellbeing<\/li>\n
  • confidence and involvement in their learning; and<\/li>\n
  • effective communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
